Vasai-Virar Roads: Same Story Every Year — When Will We Get a Permanent Fix?

Every year in Vasai-Virar, the same strange cycle repeats itself. Just a few days before Ganpati Visarjan… or before the city marathon… the potholes on the roads are hastily filled.

But the big question is — why aren’t these roads permanently fixed?

🚧 The Same Drama, The Same Wasted Money

Year after year, the condition of the roads worsens during the monsoon. Potholes make them dangerous and unbearable.
On Ganpati Visarjan day, the police and municipal officials suddenly spring into action; before the marathon, there’s media attention — and then a quick fix is done.

This work is finished in just 2–4 days, but within a few months, the same potholes reappear.
The money spent repeatedly on patching up these roads is public money — paid from the taxes of common people like us.

💸 Money Wasted Again and Again — But Zero Accountability

Every year, crores of rupees are budgeted, contractors are paid — but there’s no check on quality.
Only temporary patches are done and the work is signed off.

No enquiry is made, no contractor is blacklisted.
So the question remains — why don’t the municipal authorities or PWD take strict action?

👊 When Will the Voice of the People Be Heard?

The money that is wasted repeatedly could have been spent on hospitals, schools, drinking water, or other development.
But no — the same nonsense continues every year.

The people of Vasai-Virar must raise their voice:

  • Demand permanent repairs
  • Hold contractors accountable
  • Raise the issue on social media and in the news
  • File RTIs and request budget and contractor details

📣 Enough! We Demand a Permanent Solution

Roads should not be made just for Ganpati Visarjan or the marathon — they should be made for everyday use, with quality and durability in mind.

We don’t want temporary work anymore — we want quality and long-lasting roads.

✍️ What do you think?
Raise your voice and share this message as much as possible.
Vasai-Virar deserves better roads, better planning, and better governance.
